LifeBoost is a personal blog run by me, Wei, from Singapore. I don't sell anything here, and I don't run a business through this site. Because there is a contact form and a few cookies, I want to explain plainly what I collect, why, and what your rights are under the Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA).
Who is responsible
I am the data controller for this website. You can reach me at [email protected], by phone at +65 6228 4232, or by post at Blk 78 Guan Chuan Street, #02-14, Singapore 160078.
What I collect from the contact form
When you use the Say hello form, I collect:
- Your name
- Your email address
- Your subject selection and message
- Your consent checkbox confirmation
- A timestamp (Singapore time) when the message is sent
I use this information only to read and reply to your message. I do not add you to a mailing list, sell your details, or share them with third parties for marketing. If you ask me a question and I reply, your email address exists in my inbox until I delete the thread.
Legal basis and consent
Under the PDPA, I rely on your consent when you tick the checkbox on the contact form before sending. The checkbox is never pre-ticked. Without consent, the form will not send. You may withdraw consent at any time by emailing me and asking me to delete your message and contact details.
How long I keep contact form data
I keep contact messages only as long as needed to respond and for a reasonable period afterwards in case of follow-up — typically no longer than twelve months unless we have an ongoing correspondence you wish to continue. You may ask me to delete your data sooner.
Cookies on this site
Cookies are small text files stored on your device. LifeBoost uses a minimal set:
- Essential cookies — to remember your cookie preference choice. Stored for six months.
- Analytics cookies (optional) — if you accept analytics, I may use basic, privacy-conscious analytics to understand which entries people read and whether the site loads properly. These are not used to profile you for advertising on this personal blog.
When you first visit, a banner lets you Accept all, Reject all, or Customise. Your choice is stored for six months. You can change your mind anytime by clearing cookies in your browser or contacting me.
Server and hosting logs
Like most websites, my hosting provider may automatically log technical data such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested. I do not use these logs to identify individual readers personally. They help keep the site secure and diagnose technical problems.
Your rights under the PDPA
You have the right to:
- Ask what personal data I hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data
- Withdraw consent for future processing
To exercise any of these rights, email me at [email protected]. I will respond within a reasonable time. If you are not satisfied with my response, you may contact the Personal Data Protection Commission (PDPC) at pdpc.gov.sg.
Links to other sites
Occasionally I may link to external pages such as the PDPC website. I am not responsible for their privacy practices. Please read their policies if you visit them.
Children
This is a general-audience personal blog not directed at children. I do not knowingly collect data from anyone under thirteen through the contact form.
Changes to this note
If I change how I handle data, I will update this page and the date at the top. Material changes will be noted here plainly.
Personal blog disclaimer
This is a personal blog. Everything here is written by me and reflects my own experiences, opinions and memories at the time of writing. Posts are personal reflections and are not professional, medical, legal, financial or fitness advice. Places and everyday moments are described from my own point of view; I don't name or speak for anyone else, and I try to write about my neighbourhood kindly and honestly. If I've got something wrong, tell me and I'll fix it.
