About me

I'm Wei, and I notice small lifts.

I grew up in Singapore and came back after a few years abroad, which is a long way of saying I see the city with both familiarity and fresh eyes. I live in a flat off Guan Chuan Street, in that overlap between Tiong Bahru and Bukit Merah where old walk-ups sit near newer blocks and the bakery smell drifts down at odd hours.

LifeBoost started as a notebook on my kitchen table. I was writing down small things — the kopi that arrived half a shade too dark, the neighbour who waters everyone's corridor plants when someone travels, the way the park connector smells after rain. A friend said I should put them somewhere, so here we are. No editorial calendar, no sponsors, no grand plan.

What I look for when I walk: light on concrete, kindness without announcement, the ordinary rearranged slightly so you notice it. I take the bus more than I drive. I know which kopitiam uncle remembers my order and which bench on the connector gets shade earliest. These are not credentials — they're just the texture of my days.

I write in English with the spellings I grew up with — organise, centre, colour — and with the words we use here: kopi, hawker, void deck, MRT. My neighbourhood is not a backdrop; it's where the entries come from.

A note on what this is: This is a personal blog. Everything here is written by me and reflects my own experiences, opinions and memories at the time of writing. Posts are personal reflections and are not professional, medical, legal, financial or fitness advice. Places and everyday moments are described from my own point of view; I don't name or speak for anyone else, and I try to write about my neighbourhood kindly and honestly. If I've got something wrong, tell me and I'll fix it.
